Our Company

Chuen Cheong Food Industries (Pte) Ltd, a well known player in our region for manufacturing and distributing supreme quality Soy Sauce, Chilli Sauce and other condiments under the "TIGER" brand label. The “TIGER” brand is undisputedly the oldest brand of soy sauce in Singapore and the region.

It is a pioneer sauce/condiments producing company here in Singapore producing Dark & Light Soya Sauce besides other seasonings since year 1930 in Singapore as well as in Johor (State of Malaysia). Besides, our sauce and condiment products are listed in major super & hyper marts at part of the world.

By using the best Canadian imported quality raw materials and incorporating the "State of the Art" processing equipments gave us the honor to be awarded The “Asia Super Brand”. Beside that we are also awarded as Singapore Healthier Choice, Tasty Singapore Product, Super Brand Singapore and the Singapore Heritage Brand Award.

We are also certified for ISO9001, HACCP and obtained as a HALAL manufacturer company for Muslim community consumption


Company Background


The founder, Chia Hou had left his hometown of XinHui, a village in Guangdong province of southern China, to settle in Singapore. He set up in 1930 the Chop Chuen Cheong with its main office in 30, Smith Street with the support of the manufacturing plant at 857~8, Lorong 17, Geylang Road. Due to the repeat growth of the market, he established its branch office at 234, Jalan Besar in 1933.



In 6th February 1971, the manufacturing plant shifted to Lorong Ayam Beroga, off Lim Chu Kang Road and celebrating 41st anniversary.


In 1978, Chop Chuen Cheong was converted from proprietorship to limited company status and subsequently the manufacturing plant shifted to 41, Defu Lane 3 in 1980.



Presently, Chuen Cheong Food Industries (Pte) Ltd, located at 58, Woodlands Terrace and managed by the 4th generation of the Chia’s family who had set up a manufacturing plant in Malaysia (Johor) to serve the greater demand both from Singapore, Malaysia and overseas.



Our Product

Soya Sauce is one of the world’s oldest condiments. It has been an essential ingredient in Chinese cookery for over 2500 years. Developed as an alternative to meat-based sauces, it is made from fermented soya beans and roasted mixed grains. Its took six months to mature from the wet nature fermentation in the storage tanks, raw sauce will need to mix with some others ingredients for cooking before it come into the finally state for bottling.

Whilst soya sauce has been used for many centuries in Asia, it did not reach the western world until the 17th century until Dutch traders, enamored with its saltiness, bought it home to Europe. Today, soya sauce is the key item in pantries throughout the world. It is used to season and flavor many different kinds of dished from stir-fries to noodles to tempura to soup.


Chuen Cheong Food Industries (Pte) Ltd has been manufacturing and distributing quality Soya Sauce, Chilli Sauce & other condiments under the “Tiger Brand” Label to consumers in Singapore since1930. Its’ product include Light & Dark Soya Sauce, Salted Soya Beans, Chilli Sauce, Tomato Sauce, Oyster Sauce, Vinegar etc.

Soya Sauce is made using recipes that have been handed down from generations using traditional fermentation method, use only best grade ingredients to maintain quality and to produce its condiments. With its own manufacturing plant and facilities, the company can control production and can perform product research and development, ensuring products of the highest quality.

In line with increased export demand, the company has changed its packaging from glass bottle to Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles in 1985, which make its sauce easier to export and reduce the risk of broken glass.

Certifications & Awards

Chuen Cheong Food Industries (Pte) Ltd insists on the highest quality control from the very beginning of the production process right through to the finished product. Its use the highest-grade Canadian Soya Beans and strictly adhere to the quality control standards throughout the production process in order to ensure the best soya sauce is produced. This commitment has been recognized by international quality awards and it achieved ISO9001:2000 from 2000. In the year of 2006, we have achieved the highest standard of hygiene control and awarded HACCP. Meanwhile at year 2009, our ISO have been improved from the version ISO9001:2000 to ISO9001:2008.

In 2004 & 2005, Tiger brand was selected as one of the Asia’s Top 1000 Brands by Syncopate and Asian Integrated Media. This survey is conducted in ten cities of eight countries in Asia.

Tiger Brand was selected as winner of the Inaugural “SPBA Heritage Brand Award” in the year 2005.

As for the year of 2006, Tiger Brand was awarded “Superbrands Singapore” and also “Asia Superbrands” that was operates in more than 80 countries worldwide.

“TIGER BRAND” had distributed in all areas of Singapore (e.g. NTUC, Cold Storage, Shop & Save, Giant, 7-elevent, Prime, Sheng Shiong, Isetan, Mustafa, I-econ & Petrol Kiosk, Provision Shops & Market Stores etc...). We do contact packing for House Brand of Supermarket, Hyper-Mart and even some famous brand in Singapore. We also exported to various countries in South East Asia, East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Europe, particularly the EEC countries.
